How to Wear: Polka Dots

Polka dots, an all-time classic, seems to be one of the hottest trends du jour. It seems like all the big designers of our time featured a few polka dot printed dresses in their F/W 2011 collection. If you’re unsure how to wear this trend or are just looking for some source of inspiration, read on!
Polka dots give off a vibe of innocence, so they are perfect for creating the popular school-girl look. Pair your polka dot skirt with a pair of high socks and a simple blouse for a sweet outfit which will bring you back to your time as a Goody Two-Shoes times.
But polka dots are also very sexy and feminine. By combining them with high heels, a tight pencil skirt or an extravagant straw hat you can easily create a glamorous Tinseltown look.
Those of you looking for something a little edgier should try covering yourselves in polka dots from head to toes. Add lots of jewelry, high heels and perhaps a pair of sunglasses – et voilà, your trendy ensemble is ready!
If you are going for an even bolder look, don’t be afraid to throw some color into the mix! Different prints – especially animal ones – are an added bonus, but don’t go overboard! 🙂
When you get tired of all the previous intense and colorful looks, feel free to slip into a simple black and white number. Polka dots look great on blouses, skirts and even shorts, so don’t be afraid to incorporate them into your everyday express looks!
Finally, if you are still feeling uninspired, have a look at this lady, turquoisepassion. Somehow I feel like she picked the wrong username – polkadotpassion would have suited her much better in my opinion 🙂
